Introduction:
This assignment requires the application of published research to develop a proposed treatment for any issues uncovered by the Clark Healthy Workplace Inventory. The purpose of this assignment is to help students analyze the results of their workplace environment assessments and propose evidence-based strategies to create high-performance interprofessional teams.

Part 1: Work Environment Assessment
The results of my Work Environment Assessment suggest that my workplace has a relatively healthy and civil environment. The overall score was 85 out of 100, indicating a positive work environment. However, two things surprised me about the results. Firstly, there were several items related to effective communication, including “feedback is provided constructively”, “critical feedback is given discreetly”, and “individuals listen actively to one another”, where the scores were lower than expected. Secondly, the score for “I can trust other team members to do their jobs competently” was also lower than expected. One idea that was confirmed by the assessment was the culture of respect and civility that exists in my workplace.

Part 2: Reviewing the Literature
The article that I selected is Clark (2015). The theory presented in this article is that a healthy work environment is a critical aspect of patient safety, quality of care, and staff retention. A positive work environment with supportive leadership, effective communication, and teamwork fosters a culture of safety, accountability, and collaboration. The results of my Work Environment Assessment suggest that effective communication and trust are areas that need improvement in my workplace. To improve organizational health and create stronger work teams, my organization could apply the theory highlighted in Clark (2015) by promoting a culture of open communication, establishing clear and concise criteria for decision-making, providing opportunities for feedback and learning, and actively involving all stakeholders in quality improvement efforts.

Part 3: Evidence-Based Strategies to Create High-Performance Interprofessional Teams
To address the shortcomings revealed in my Work Environment Assessment, I recommend two evidence-based strategies. The first strategy is to implement interprofessional education and collaboration to facilitate communication and teamwork among healthcare professionals. Simulation-based training and team-based learning can be used to enhance communication and teamwork skills. The second strategy is to establish a culture of trust and respect through effective leadership, feedback, and recognition. Leaders should act as role models, emphasize the importance of teamwork, and recognize and reward individuals for their contributions to the team’s success. To bolster successful practices revealed in my Work Environment Assessment, I recommend two strategies. The first strategy is to continue to foster a culture of civility and respect through ongoing training, feedback, and recognition. The second strategy is to promote organizational learning and continuous quality improvement by involving all stakeholders in decision-making, encouraging innovation and creative problem-solving, and providing opportunities for professional development and growth.
