Introduction:
As a medical professor, it is important to guide and mentor nursing students in developing their personal philosophy of nursing. This paper aims to guide students in defining and explaining their beliefs about the nursing metaparadigm concepts of person/client, environment, health, and nursing, and how they are interrelated in guiding their nursing practice. Additionally, this paper requires students to link their personal philosophy to a particular nursing theory and discuss how it reflects their beliefs. The paper should be written in APA format and include proper organization, documentation, and references.

1. Introduction & brief description:
The introduction of the personal philosophy of nursing reflection paper should identify the purpose of the paper and the factors that have influenced the development of the student’s nursing philosophy. The purpose of the paper is to define and describe personal beliefs about the nursing metaparadigm concepts and link them to a nursing theory. The factors that influence the development of a student’s philosophy may include personal experiences, culture, upbringing, education, and exposure to nursing practice.

2. Define, describe and explain:
Students should define, describe and explain their personal beliefs about the four concepts of the nursing metaparadigm: person/client, environment, health, and nursing. They should provide a clear and concise explanation of how these concepts are interrelated and guide their nursing practice. For instance, a student may believe that a person is a unique individual who requires care that is tailored to their needs, and that the environment plays a critical role in their health outcomes. By explaining their beliefs about each concept and how they are interrelated, students can demonstrate their understanding of the nursing metaparadigm and how it informs their nursing practice.

3. Identification and brief description of nursing theory:
Students should identify a nursing theory that is compatible with their personal nursing philosophy, describe its core components, and discuss how it reflects their beliefs. For instance, a student who believes in the importance of holistic care may choose to link their philosophy to the theory of Jean Watson’s human caring theory, which emphasizes the importance of caring relationships in nursing. By discussing the core components of the theory and how it aligns with their beliefs, students can demonstrate their understanding of nursing theories and their relevance to their nursing practice.

4. Organization, documentation, references:
The personal philosophy of nursing reflection paper should be organized in a logical and clear manner, with proper documentation and references in APA format. This includes proper citation of sources and referencing on the reference page. Additionally, students should ensure that their paper is free from plagiarism by using Turnitin to check their work and avoid similarity indexes of over 20%.

In conclusion, the personal philosophy of nursing reflection paper is an important assignment that allows students to define, describe and explain their beliefs about the nursing metaparadigm concepts and link them to a nursing theory. As a medical professor, it is essential to guide and mentor students in developing their personal nursing philosophy by providing guidance and feedback on their assignments.
